Why We Give

At Bethany, we believe generosity is worship and a way of life, not just an action. Giving is an act of obedience that reflects our trust in God and aligns our hearts with His purposes. When we give thoughtfully, regularly, and sacrificially, God uses our gifts to care for His people, share the Gospel locally and globally, and leave a lasting impact for future generations. Your generosity is a tangible way to join in God’s work, model Christlike living, and experience the joy of giving.

At Bethany, we believe the following about Generosity:

  • Generosity is worship (Hebrews 13:16).
  • Generosity is a lifestyle of stewardship that is more than an act; it’s a way of being (1 Peter 4:10).
  • Generosity frees us from self-sufficiency (1 Timothy 6:17-19).
  • Generosity contributes to joy that aligns us with the heart of God and heightens our awareness to respond to the needs in our spheres of influence (2 Corinthians 9:7-8).
  • Generosity is missional, mobilizing the Church to be the presence of Christ in the world (Matthew 5:16).
  • Generosity is counter-cultural, entrusting God with our resources for the good of the world and trusting God to meet our own needs (Matthew 6:19-21).
  • Generosity has a generational impact as one generation models to the next how to give back and care for the needs of the world (Psalm 145:4, 7).

Donate Non-Cash Gifts

Stock

Donating appreciated, publicly traded stock that you have held for more than one year can be a tax-efficient way to support Bethany. A direct stock gift:

  • May eliminate capital-gains tax on the stock’s built-in appreciation.
  • May qualify for a charitable deduction equal to the stock’s fair-market value if you itemize.

Giving Questions

We believe language matters. When we give money, it is a practice of Offering. Gifts are financial offerings made infrequently but intentionally. Tithes are regular and recurring gifts (e.g., monthly, quarterly, annual), often expressed as a percentage of income.

All of Bethany's ministries and departments are supported through the general fund. Every dollar given goes directly toward fueling the overall mission of our church—helping people encounter God, build relationships, and serve their communities.

Electronic payments are processed securely through Pushpay, our trusted giving platform. With Pushpay, you can easily set up an online account to manage your giving, whether it's a one-time gift or a recurring donation. It's designed to be safe, simple, and convenient. Set up Pushpay here.

No—you don't need a Pushpay account to give online. You can make a one-time gift without creating an account. However, setting up an account makes it easy to manage recurring gifts, view your giving history, and update your payment information.

No—there are no hidden fees for you. Bethany does pay a small processing fee for credit and debit card gifts, while bank account (ACH) donations cost the church less. Either way, the full amount you give is counted as your donation, so your gift makes the greatest impact possible.

Your annual giving statement will be emailed to you each January for the previous calendar year. Our ability to provide you with a statement is based on having your most up-to-date information.

If you have given through the Bethany website, we will use the email address on file associated with your Pushpay account. Login to your Pushpay account or send an email to finance@churchbcc.org to update your contact information.
