At Bethany, we practice being the hands and feet of Jesus by caring for our community in a variety of ways. Whether you are experiencing crises, need spiritual guidance, or are dealing with grief and loss, we would consider it a privilege to walk alongside you.

Stephen Ministry

Stephen Ministry provides confidential, one-on-one emotional and spiritual care to individuals who are experiencing a tough season in their lives. Trained caregivers are available to come alongside you to listen, encourage, support, and pray for you as you seek healing and strength while facing particular crises, such as the loss of a loved one, convalescence, separation or divorce, loneliness or discouragement, spiritual concerns, unemployment, terminal or chronic illness, birth or adoption, miscarriage or infertility, relocation, recovery, anxiety and depression, and life transition. Deacon Ministry

Deacon Ministry focuses on ministering to Bethany members and regular attenders experiencing hardship in practical ways. Four areas of practical need outline the scope of this effort:

Material Assistance: Financial assistance, personal budget planning and management, and employment coaching.

Care Visitation: Hospitalization and rehab, shut-ins, widows, single moms, and new baby support.

Practical Help: Household maintenance, transportation, relocation, meals, and childcare support.

Crisis Support: Bereavement, unemployment, extended or terminal illness, domestic violence, separation or divorce, and other emergencies.

If you are experiencing a season of hardship with needs in one or more of the areas described here, we invite you also to contact us. We will meet with you, assess your particular concern together, and come alongside you to minister in whatever way may be most helpful.

Prayer

We believe in the vital importance of interceding for one another in prayer as an ongoing element of our life together in Christian community. We do this in two main ways: Prayer Team and Prayer Chain.

Prayer team: Members are available both in person and online at all of our services to listen and pray with you! In the big things and the small things, God sees you, and we consider it a privilege to come to God together.

Prayer Chain: Sign up to pray for specific requests from our congregation that are communicated in a weekly email.

Need Help?

Maybe you’re in crisis, experiencing transition, or struggling to cope with life events. You might have spiritual/theological questions, grief, work issues, or are feeling social discomfort in the current times and just need to talk to someone. If you're not sure where to start or what support might be best, we’d be honored to come alongside and figure out the right resources for you. The pastoral team is available for pastoral counsel, care, and spiritual support as appropriate. We also maintain a strong referral network of professional therapists.
