Racial Justice

Reconciliation is the journey of joining Jesus in restoring broken relationships and systems through truth-telling, repentance, and forgiveness to reveal God's kingdom.

You’re invited to be formed by God’s heart of justice, restoration, and repair through the Ministry of Racial Justice and Reconciliation. We partner with Jesus as reconcilers, peacemakers, and practitioners of justice, specifically addressing the dividing wall of racism, so that we can honor the image of God in one another and live out the Gospel’s vision of unity in diversity and God’s justice.

Upcoming Events

As a part of our discipleship, racial justice and reconciliation is something that we DO together! Connect to opportunities for community, growth, and engagement across Bethany – from restorative circles, to BIPOC groups, to local pilgrimages, and learning groups.

As a community, we are committed to:

1. Bring our understanding and experiences of culture, ethnicity, and race into our shared discipleship (1 Corinthians 12:12-14).

2. Respond to racism and racial harm with God’s justice and reconciliation (Eph 2:14, 2 Cor 5:18-19).

3. Celebrate racial, ethnic, and cultural diversity as the gift God made it to be (Gen 1:27) and that is reflected in God’s kingdom (Rev 7:9).

Healing and Reconciliation Process

Restorative justice practices deepen our conversation about race in the context of our faith and build a culture of connection and restoration.

Restorative Circles
Informal, small group settings where we share, listen, and are heard in our experiences of culture, race, and ethnicity.

Facilitated Dialogue
Structure and support that bring people into conversation after relational breaks and hurts across different racial, ethnic, and cultural experiences.
