Bainbridge Island Pilgrimage | Sunday, July 19 | 2-5pm | Colman Dock & Bainbridge Island
Join us for a pilgrimage to the Bainbridge Island Japanese American Exclusion Memorial. Located at the historic Eagledale ferry dock, the memorial marks the site where the first of more than 120,000 Japanese Americans—two-thirds U.S. citizens—were forcibly removed from their West Coast homes and incarcerated during World War II.
Pilgrimage is intentional walking that shapes the soul. As we move through places marked by racial history, we follow a biblical pattern of reflection and formation.
We will coordinate together to take the 2:10 ferry from Colman Dock in downtown Seattle, take the 35 minute ride to Bainbridge Island, drive to the memorial for time there together, and then depart on our own from there.
