Lyman Lakes Backpacking Trip

Join us for a challenging and rewarding backpacking trip to Lyman Lakes in the Glacier Peak Wilderness. This remote alpine route features, lakes, waterfalls, mountain views, wildflower meadows, and stunning scenery near Cloudy Pass and Spider Gap. The trail offers a physically demanding experience with long mileage and elevation gain, making it best suited for hikers with prior backpacking experience and good physical conditioning.

- Trail Distance: Approximately 21 miles roundtrip
- Elevation Gain: Approximately 2,774 feet
- Highest Point: Approximately 5,983 feet
- Difficulty: Hard
Schedule
- Meet at church: 7am
- Drive to Trailhead: 3.5 to 4 hours depending on stops on the way
- Camp overnight near Lyman Lakes or Cloudy Pass
- Return hike the following day
- Travel back to Seattle in the evening
Participants should be prepared for steep sections, extended hiking with backpacks, changing mountain weather, and remote wilderness conditions. Bugs can also be significant in some sections of the trail and campsite. Bug nets and deet are necessary for potential encounter with bugs.
