Are you overwhelmed by the amount of need in our city? If you desire to help, or wonder how to best interact with your unhoused neighbors you encounter in daily life join us for this workshop! In partnership with Sacred Streets and Mental Health Chaplaincy, this companionship workshop will offer skills to help us better love our neighbors living in circumstances of homelessness, mental illness, addictions, trauma, and isolation. Companionship is a ministry of presence, a way to offer soul care that moves from a transactional exchange model to a relational engagement model, creating space for both parties to be transformed.
In the workshop we’ll go through 5 basic practices of companionship, which include: hospitality, neighboring, side-by-side, listening, and accompaniment.
This training is for all who are curious how to better practice Jesus’ call to love our neighbors within our communities.

Sacred Streets is a movement of local churches to provide soul care on the streets, accompany our unhoused neighbors through significant life transitions, and offer care for those working on the front lines in social services.
